The evolution of man...

I think this is a very real picture of how man has evolved, and serves as a fair warning to all wrt where the trend is headed...

Something needs to be done...and fast!

if we can question present trend then we can also question the ape's decision/inclination to move away from one wild to other. in my opinion man had always tried to be in a better position than before by changing himself and the surroundings (to the extent that he can).
so where we were at fault ????

Yes we can, and having the benefit of hindsight, questioning the ape's moves may lead to some interesting revelations.

I totally agree on the fact that man has always tried to be in a better position, and this pic illustrates that. It is without doubt that the move to computers was very desirable. However, i am merely trying to point out that its time to move on... and while we are at it, we could look at some solution that does not screw with our natural posture as much...

Conceptually...for me, technology must free us... not bind us.... and from the above pic.... it looks like technology is constraining us...
thats what i am not in favour of.

taking a clue from your perspective blog , i had an different interpretation of the pic
man changed from being an ape to an biped because that posture would help him food gathering and hunting.
Then being clever and inquisitive man find that automation and machines could help him in doing work better and faster thus machines were developed
in the third stage , which i believe is not much different from the second one (because computers are inherently machines)
we find more efficient way of working in electronics than in mechanics .
saying this i put to question two things
1) can there be more logical change from one step to other or it is merely the fact that while undergoing change we missed out certain considerations .
2) has technology really constrained us . what i believe is that while going from the second stage to third one man must had one more thing in hindsight 'dissemination of ideas, knowledge and experience could be very fruitful'(probably this had given birth to internet ). what i mean to say is, Is technology constraining us or the application of technology having unintended(or in some cases even intended) effect. Is technology as such is at fault ? or put it differently ' Are we constrained because of technology'. if i go by my experiences (this is only second time i had replied to any blog or post ) ,technology had been instrumental in generating ideas .
